Add Products, Variants, and Inventory

Products & Inventory

Your product catalog is the heart of your store. ilanoShop gives you powerful tools to manage everything from simple items to complex products with multiple options.

Create a product

Go to ProductsAdd Product. Here are the key fields:

  • Title: Keep it concise but descriptive (e.g., "Men's Classic Cotton T-Shirt").
  • Description: Use this space to sell! Mention materials, fit, care instructions, and dimensions. Bullet points work best.
  • Media: Drag and drop images. The first image is your "Main" image that appears on collection pages.

Pricing

  • Price: What the customer pays.
  • Compare-at Price: If you enter a higher value here, the product will show as "On Sale" with a strikethrough on the original price.
  • Cost per item: (Internal only) Enter what the product costs you to make or buy. This helps us calculate your profit margin in reports.

Adding variants

Does your product come in different sizes (S, M, L) or colors (Red, Blue)? You need variants.

  1. Scroll to the Options section.
  2. Check "This product has options".
  3. Add an Option Name (e.g., "Size") and values (e.g., "Small, Medium, Large").
  4. Add another option (e.g., "Color") if needed.

Once generated, you can set unique prices, SKUs, and inventory levels for each specific variant (e.g., Small/Red vs. Large/Blue).

Track inventory

You don't want to sell an item you don't have. In the Inventory section:

  • SKU (Stock Keeping Unit): A unique code for the product (optional but recommended).
  • Track quantity: Check this box.
  • Quantity: Enter your current stock level.

When an order is placed, stock is automatically deducted. When it hits zero, the product becomes "Out of Stock" on your storefront, preventing unhappy customers.

Organize with categories

Categories help customers browse specific types of items (e.g., "Summer Collection" or "Office Supplies"). You can assign a product to multiple categories from the sidebar on the product edit page.
